Call to Action RGA Friends and Families

Yesterday, Governor Rauner announced his proposed budget for the upcoming fiscal year beginning July 1st.  You have probably seen in the media that the Governor is proposing many cuts, including major reductions in funding for human services.  I want to share with you what this means for Ray Graham Association.

The Governor is proposing that Respite Services be completely eliminated.  That means, 350 children and adults would lose this critical safety-net service at RGA alone.  Additionally, there is a proposed rate reduction of 12% targeted specifically to ICFDDs, which includes our Specialized Living Center (SLC).  This campus is home to 100 of the most medically fragile adults with disabilities served by RGA and would suffer greatly by these cuts and likely could not be sustained.

This is the starting point!  It will take all of your voices to prevent these devastating cuts.  At this point, I am asking that you contact your State Representative and Senator and let them know cuts to Respite and ICFDDs cannot occur!  Our state needs changes, but by putting our citizens who are most vulnerable at risk is simply not acceptable.
